Asia Pacific
The first few pages of the March 2007 edition of the
Asia-Pacific Aerospace briefing are filled with news from around
this region including a front page article on the possible merging
of the separate airspace control authorities in the Pacific region.
Other news focus on the strong growth in Asia's travel industry,
the recent alliance between three plaintiff law firms in the US, UK
and Indonesia in the wake of a series of high profile air disasters
in Indonesia and the implementation of the Montreal Convention 1999
in Hong Kong which took effect on 15 December 2006. In a separate
article, we look at the ongoing developments in Australia in
respect of the tax burden imposed on foreign airlines by reference
to their insurance policies.
